About Forever Shining

We are a family owned and operated memorial maker crafting headstones, monuments and memorial plaques at our Bibra Lake workshop in Perth, delivered Australia wide and overseas. It all started with one daughter, one memorial, and two engineers who believed families deserved better.

Who we are

Forever Shining designs and manufactures personalised memorials and a selection of architectural creations. Families can design their own memorial online with live pricing, then have it checked by our team before it is crafted. Every memorial is engineered to stand up to weather and time without cracking, fading or crumbling, so the inscription stays clear for generations. We artistically blend old and new materials, granite, stainless steel, glass, crystal and bronze, with modern designs that reflect the person being remembered.

How it all started: the story of Forever Shining

A modern stainless steel and coloured glass memorial in the style of the first Forever Shining monument

Before Forever Shining, Allan and Albert were partners in a company supplying engineering products and services to the international fibre cement industry. Allan’s daughter Nicole was vibrant, artistic and driven, a real go getter and high achiever. In her fifth year of medical studies she was diagnosed with a serious brain tumour. She refused to let it stop her, completing her medical degree after brain surgery and then her internship, before passing away while pursuing her specialist training.

After her death, Allan and Albert realised that a conventional monument was simply not Nicole’s style. They had met other families who felt the same about the memorials on offer. So, as engineers, they designed a truly fitting memorial that captured Nicole’s vibrant life: a full size stainless steel monument with motifs backed by glass that glowed with colour, and patented laser cut inscriptions. It still stands today.

They etched their memories into your heart. Let us etch their memories into stone, steel, glass and bronze, so those memories can shine forever.

When others saw Nicole’s memorial, they began asking Allan and Albert to honour their own loved ones in the same way. It became clear that families wanted something beautiful, stylish and long lasting, quite different from what most cemeteries could offer. That was the start of Forever Shining. Decades of engineering experience were turned to creating modern, colourful, low maintenance memorials, and years of research and development have grown the range to headstones, plaques, urns, full monuments, signs, architectural products and personalised memorabilia in stainless steel, crystal, glass, porcelain, granite and bronze.

Our journey

The beginning

Nicole’s memorial

Allan and Albert, engineering partners in the fibre cement industry, lose Allan’s daughter Nicole to a brain tumour. Unhappy with conventional monuments, they design a fitting memorial themselves: a full size stainless steel monument with glass backed motifs and patented laser cut inscriptions.

Recognition

ABC New Inventors and ASSDA

The prototype monument is featured on ABC Television’s New Inventors, and the Australian Stainless Steel Development Association recognises Forever Shining as an innovator in stainless steel.

Growth

A full memorial range

Research and development expands the range to laser etched black granite headstones, bronze and granite plaques, urns, full monuments, pet memorials, signage and architectural work.

Innovation

The online 3D designer

The first patented online memorial design system lets families anywhere design in real time with live pricing, and it has since been rebuilt in HTML5 for phones and tablets.

Today

Perth workshop, Australia wide reach

From our Bibra Lake workshop and showroom we craft memorials for families across Australia, offer free home visits in Perth, and create public art through our sister studio Artforms.

Innovation and technology

Forever Shining online memorial designer on a laptop beside the finished granite monument

Forever Shining has always used engineering and technology to build memorials that are genuinely different, from our durable stainless steel monuments to our patented online 3D design system.

The designer was born from a simple need: families wanted to see their memorial before it was made, especially in regional Australia where the nearest stonemason might be hundreds of kilometres away. Our online system lets you build a memorial in real time in your browser, watching it come to life as you add photos, motifs and inscriptions, with the price updating as you go. What began as an experiment in visualisation has become a modular, adaptable design platform, now rebuilt in HTML5 so it works on phones and tablets as well as desktops.

Most importantly, it lets you sit down with family and friends and design a memorial that is truly personal, from wherever you are.

What we stand for

Family owned and run

We are a small Perth family business. The person who answers the phone is the person who will look after your memorial from first sketch to installation.

Born from love, not business

Forever Shining began with one daughter’s memorial. That is still how we treat every order, as something personal that has to be right.

Engineers at heart

Our founders were engineers, and it shows: patented laser cut inscriptions, an online 3D designer, and materials chosen to outlast the weather.

Built to last generations

Laser etched granite, bronze and marine grade stainless steel. Low maintenance, weather proof and made to keep every detail crisp for decades.
