What a full monument adds
Kerbing
Granite kerbs frame the grave and hold gravel, plants or a ledger. Kerbing adds a significant amount of stone and installation time, and it is the most common step up from a headstone and base.
Ledger or desk
A ledger is a full slab over the grave and a desk is a smaller sloping stone in front of the headstone. Both give more room for inscriptions and images, and both need a sound foundation, which the cemetery will specify.
Vases, statues and lights
Flower vases are included in our packages. Bronze or granite statues, ceramic photos, solar lights and QR code tributes are priced individually in the designer or on your quote.
What a full monument costs
Because kerbing, ledgers and statues are all made to the size of the grave and the rules of the cemetery, we quote full monuments on the design rather than from a fixed list. Start from the installed package prices above, then allow for the extra granite and installation that kerbing adds, and more again for a full ledger, a larger headstone or a statue. Double graves and heritage cemeteries cost more. Send us your design or a photo of what you have in mind and we will price it within a few days.
What drives the price
The amount of granite is the biggest factor, followed by the size and number of laser etched images, the installation method the cemetery requires, and the cemetery’s own fees. Granite colour makes a difference too, with premium imported colours costing more than black. Our guide to granite colours explains the options, and our headstone sizes guide shows what fits where.
Cemetery requirements and fees
Every cemetery publishes maximum sizes and foundation rules for monumental sections, and charges a memorial application fee. In Perth the MCB fee is $381 and is included in our packages. Outside Perth the fee is paid to the cemetery. We prepare the scaled drawings for the application, and our WA cemeteries page lists the local requirements we work with most.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a full monument cost in Australia?
An installed laser etched granite headstone with base starts at $5,911 in Perth through our Metropolitan Cemeteries Board packages, including the cemetery application fee. A full monument with kerbing, a ledger or a statue is quoted on the design, because the amount of granite depends on the grave and the cemetery rules.
What is the difference between a headstone and a full monument?
A headstone is the upright stone, usually on a base. A full monument adds kerbing around the grave, a ledger or desk over it, or both, along with flower vases and sometimes a statue. The extra stone and the installation are what add to the price.
Do the installed packages include the cemetery fee?
Yes. Our Perth packages include the $381 Metropolitan Cemeteries Board application fee, two laser etched images, a proof with two rounds of changes, and installation by an approved mason on an existing concrete beam.
Can you install outside Perth?
We install in Perth and at Pinnaroo Cemetery in Brisbane. Elsewhere we supply the monument and ship it to a mason approved by your cemetery, with the fixing details they need.
How long does a full monument take?
Allow 12 to 18 weeks from proof approval for an installed package, because the stone is made, delivered and then installed on a date the cemetery approves.
