Adding a matching granite base costs roughly $850 more at the larger sizes. The designer prices the base for your exact size when you switch it on.

What drives the price

Five things decide most of the cost of a memorial. The size of the stone, the material you choose, the way the inscription is applied, the amount of artwork and photography, and installation. A small laser-etched plaque sits at one end of the scale. A full monument with a ledger, kerbing and gilded lettering sits at the other.

Bronze or granite?

At the same 300mm x 200mm size, a cast bronze plaque starts around $979 while a laser-etched black granite plaque starts around $577. Bronze is the traditional choice with raised lettering and a machined finish. Laser-etched granite costs less and captures photographs and fine artwork that casting cannot reproduce. Both carry our lifetime guarantee.

Cemetery requirements and fees

Your cemetery will charge its own fees on top of the memorial itself, usually a permit or monument approval fee, and every cemetery publishes its own rules on sizes and materials. Pinnaroo Cemetery in Brisbane, for example, allows two plaque sizes, 380mm x 280mm and 560mm x 305mm, and we are a cemetery-certified monument mason there. We build to the published specifications of cemeteries across Australia, including Karrakatta, Fremantle and Pinnaroo Valley in Perth, and we work closely with cemeteries in Queensland, Sydney and Melbourne. We prepare the drawings your cemetery needs for approval as part of every order.

How delivery works

Delivery to mainland Australia is included in the designer price. Plaques and other items under 25kg are delivered to your door. Heavier items such as headstones and monuments are delivered to your closest freight depot for collection. Delivery to Tasmania can be arranged with an additional charge, and some remote communities may also incur an extra cost.
