Lawn cemetery plaques

Lawn sections take a plaque on a concrete beam or a low desk. Most cemeteries publish one or two approved sizes, commonly between 300 x 200 mm and 560 x 305 mm, so a lawn plaque usually costs between $577 and $1,040 in granite or $1,048 and upwards in bronze. Check the approved size with the cemetery before you design.

Niche wall and cremation plaques

Niche walls take a small plaque, often 150 x 100 mm or 200 x 150 mm, which is why cremation plaques are the most affordable memorial we make, from $388 in granite. Our cremation walls page covers the options.

Garden, bench and pet plaques

Garden plaques fixed to a boulder, a bench or a wall have no cemetery size rule, so families choose the size that reads well. A 200 x 150 mm granite plaque is a common choice. Pet memorial plaques are priced the same way.

What drives the price

Five things decide most of the cost: the size, the material, the amount of artwork and photography, any mounting block or fixings the cemetery requires, and the cemetery’s own fees. A small granite plaque with an inscription and a motif sits at one end of the scale. A large bronze plaque with a custom emblem and a ceramic photo sits at the other. The designer shows the effect of every choice before you commit.

Cemetery fees to budget for

Every cemetery charges a memorial application or permit fee, and many charge a fitting fee for lawn plaques. In Perth, the Metropolitan Cemeteries Board application fee is $381 at the time of writing. Elsewhere the fees range from well under a hundred dollars to several hundred. These are paid to the cemetery, not to us, so ask the office for its fee schedule when you confirm the approved plaque size.
