How A Pet Portrait Is Made
Send us the sharpest photo you have, or upload it in the designer. Our artists prepare it for stone, lifting your pet from a busy background if needed and balancing the tones so every feature lasers true. The laser then removes the polished surface dot by dot, turning highlights silver white while dark fur keeps the depth of the stone.
Add their name, dates and a short line if you like, and choose a rectangle or oval in the size that suits the spot. Every portrait is checked against the original photo before it leaves the workshop.
Top tip: photos where their face fills the frame laser best; 300 dpi scans or sharp phone photos are perfect.

What photos work best?
Sharp photos where their face fills the frame. We can lighten dark photos, retouch marks and remove clutter or other animals from the background before etching (charges may apply). PNG, JPEG, PSD and TIFF are all fine.
Will the portrait fade outdoors?
No. The image is cut into the stone surface itself, so there is no print, film or ink to fade or peel. Granite and marble portraits keep their detail outdoors for generations.
Can I add their name and dates?
Yes. Add their name, dates and a short line in any font around the portrait, and motifs such as paw prints, hearts and bones from our library. It is all lasered as one artwork at no extra cost.
