Ours is a genuine 200 x 300 mm headstone in premium polished black granite, made the same way as our full size memorials and lasered at 200 dots per inch, so their portrait comes out with every whisker in place. Stand it on a matching granite base in the garden, lay it flat over their resting spot, or set it into the earth like a classic headstone. How A Pet Headstone Is Made
The granite is cut and polished to 200 x 300 mm in your choice of rounded, ogee, serpentine or square top. Our artists prepare your photo so every feature lasers true, then the laser removes the polished surface dot by dot: dark fur keeps the depth of the stone, highlights turn silver white, and the finished portrait has the softness of a photograph.
Add their name, dates and a verse in any font, choose motifs from paw prints to birds, and add a matching granite base if you would like the stone to stand proud. Every headstone is checked against the original photo before it leaves the workshop.
Top tip: the granite base is the most popular option; it keeps the stone stable and at an easy reading angle in a garden bed.

How much does a pet headstone cost?
In our online designer a 200 x 300 mm pet headstone is $479 delivered to mainland Australia. Because it is laser etched, the portrait, name, dates and words are all included; the design is charged as one artwork, never per letter. A matching granite base is priced in the designer as you add it.
What size is a pet headstone?
200 x 300 mm, about 8 x 12 inches, in premium polished black granite, in a choice of rounded, ogee, serpentine and square tops. Big enough for a portrait, their name and a verse; small enough for a garden bed.
How is a pet headstone installed?
Three ways. The most popular is a matching granite base, which gives the stone stability and the best viewing angle. It can also be laid flat on the ground for maximum display, or the bottom 100 mm can be buried so it stands directly in the earth. Many families simply place it unfixed in a garden bed.
Can you laser my pet’s photo?
Yes. Upload your favourite photo and the laser etches it into the granite at 200 dots per inch, capturing whiskers, feathers and fur with the softness of a pencil drawing. Two photos are included at no extra cost.
Where can a pet headstone go?
Most stand in a garden at home, under their tree or by a favourite spot, and they can move house with you. They also suit pet cemeteries and crematorium gardens; granite lives happily outdoors in full weather.
Will the portrait fade?
No. The laser removes the polished surface and exposes the lighter granite underneath, so the portrait is part of the stone itself. There is nothing to fade or peel, and the granite carries our lifetime guarantee.
